Dura Lite Primer is a budget-range, water-thinnable acrylic primer designed for both interior and exterior masonry surfaces such as plaster, brick and concrete. Its low-VOC, solvent-free formula offers good binding, hardness and alkali resistance, helping create a tougher base that extends the life of the complete paint system.

The primer penetrates and seals dry, porous surfaces, suppresses stains and reduces absorbency so topcoat emulsions get better coverage and more uniform colour. It also helps prevent peeling of the finish coat by providing excellent adhesion between substrate and paint. Quick-drying and non-chalking, Dura Lite Primer can be applied by brush or roller, covers about 200–220 sq.ft per litre per coat on a well-prepared surface, and is ready for recoating in 2–4 hours. It is recommended as a cost-effective undercoat beneath Dura Lite Interior and Exterior Emulsions as well as other economic or popular-range paints.
